The Cambodian government, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) called in a joint statement for greater investment in food processing in order to ensure food and nutrition security and respond to shocks and crises.
The appeal, launched on the occasion of World Food Day and reported by the Khmer Times newspaper, , adds that Cambodia has put in place a National Roadmap for Food Systems for Development sustainable 2030.
“As a nation, we need to transform food supply chains to ensure the system can deliver quality and nutritious food to all Cambodians through innovative investments: technology and digital systems”, said Om Kimsir, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
